The Enison SLO Kit is a latex-based agglutination assay designed for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of Anti-Streptolysin O (ASO) antibodies in human serum.
ASO antibodies are produced in response to infection with Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A Streptococcus). Measurement of ASO levels is clinically important for the diagnosis and monitoring of post-streptococcal complications such as rheumatic fever and glomerulonephritis.
The test is based on latex particles coated with streptolysin O antigen. When serum containing ASO antibodies is mixed with the reagent, visible agglutination occurs due to antigen–antibody interaction, enabling rapid visual interpretation.
